Passengers above 70 years to get 50% discount on airfare



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai on Monday announced that Nepal’s airline companies would give a 50 percent discount on airfare to citizens above 70 years of age.

In a press conference organized in Kathmandu, Minister Bhattarai said people will not be allowed to take their vehicles inside the Tribhuvan International Airport (RIA) except for dignitaries such as the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Chairperson of the National Assembly.

Likewise, he also said that his ministry is planning to launch a campaign urging every Nepali residing abroad to send at least one foreign tourist to Nepal in 2020 in a bid to make the ambitious Visit Nepal 2020 a success.

According to him, the government is working to partnering with the Non-resident Nepalis Association for the purpose.
