7 die on a daily basis due to road accidents



KATHMANDU: A statistics has shown that seven people die on a daily  basis due to road accident in the country.

According to a record maintained by the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, a total of 2,762 people died in road accident in the fiscal year 2075/76.

In the fiscal year 2074/75, a total of 2, 541 people had died and 2,195 had perished in the fiscal year 2073/74 due to road accidents.

The number of death in the road accident increased in the fiscal year 2075/76 by 1 percent as compared to the number of deaths in the previous fiscal year.

The cause of road accidents is attributed to the driver’s recklessness and poor condition of roads.
