Four held for selling Buddha’s idol made of fake gold

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested four people on the charge of selling an idol of Buddha made of fake gold.

Metropolitan Police Circle arrested them while they were negotiating the price of the idol for Rs 6 million.

“Four people were taken under control while they were engaged in selling a Buddha’s idol weighing eight kilograms for 6 million saying that it was from Gorkha Durbar,” said Uttam Subedi, chief of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu.

The arrested are Basanta Shrestha of Ramechhap, Anil Baniya of Mahottari, Ramraj Siwakoti of Dolakha and Min Bahadur Kunwar of Tanahun.
