Youth leadership for change: Celebrating 70th Anniversary of France and Nepal



KATHMANDU: Participants at an interaction program have emphasized the need to explore ways that youths need to empower, engage with politics and social participation.

At a panel discussion “Youth Panel: Leading Change” organized jointly by the French Embassy in Nepal, Beed Knowledge, Center, Ullens School and Alliance Francaise on the occasion of 70th Anniversary of France and Nepal in Lalitpur on Sunday, participants underscored the valuable role of youths for change.

Panelists, including former Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada, youth leader Ranju Darshana, Shefali Upreti, Communication manager and Copy-editor at Quixote’s Cove; Shishir Kisi, a graduate of Ullens School; and Shradha Gautam, an economist spoke about the role of youths, especially their responsibility for prompting a variety of social changes.

“Youth leadership is a must in all sectors for social change,” said Ranju Darshana while expressing her views.

Appreciating the role of Nepalese youths in bringing about social and political change in the country, French Ambassador to Nepal, Francois-Xavier LEGER said, “It is high time that Nepali youths be given the opportunity to expose themselves in all sectors.”
