Modi to be sworn in as Prime Minister on May 30



NEW DELHI: India’s President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 30 at Rastrapati Bhawan, Indian media reports have said.

Modi will be sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for the second term.

On Saturday, Modi was elected unanimously as leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The same day, Modi called on the President Kovind in his capacity of the BJP Parliamentary Party leader.

Meanwhile, leader of the NDA have handed over a letter to President Kovind saying that Modi has been elected the BJP Parliamentary Party leader.

The NDA has a strength of 353 lawmakers in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The BJP, meanwhile, has a majority of 303 Members of Parliament. (Agencies)
