Lalu ‘skips’ lunch, talks less

NEW DELHI: Former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad, who is currently in jail, has stopped taking lunch after his party — Rastriya Janata Dal (RJD) — suffered an embarrassing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.

According to media reports, Lalu Prasad keeps quiet most of the time since his party RJD failed to win any seat in Bihar, which was once his stronghold. In 2014, his party had won four seats from Bihar.

His doctor Umesh Prasad said Lalu’s routine has completely changed in the last three days. According to Umesh, Lalu is having breakfast and dinner but skipping lunch.

Lalu Prasad is serving a 14-year sentence in Jharkhand in a multi-million-rupee fodder scam.

Doctors said Lalu keeps quiet most of the time.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance swept Bihar, bagging 39 of the 40 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. (Agencies)
