KATHMANDU: Participants at an interaction have emphasized on the formation of a committee comprising stakeholders to control human trafficking.

At the program organized by Forum for Women, Law and Development in Kathmandu today, participants suggested the stakeholders concerned to expand the committee at all levels – from the state to the local level.

Stating that there are numerous challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and lack of public awareness to stop human trafficking, Rudradevi Sharma, Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen stated that coordination from all sides was vital to stop trafficking.

Likewise, Executive Director of the Forum, Sabin Shrestha, maintained that the Forum has been endeavoring to expand the committee to states as well as local levels according to the new federal structure.
