KOHALPUR: Kohalpur town in Banke district will be equipped with high mast lights.

A meeting between Minister for Urban Development of State 5 Mohammad Istiyak Rai and the Kohalpur municipality agreed to install high mast lights in the town as part of the municipality’s Ujjyalo (light) campaign, said the municipality mayor Lut Bahadur Raut.

Various donor agencies will fund the Rs 20 million project. “A contract agreement has been reached after calling a tender. The process of installing the light will begin in a few weeks,” said mayor Raut. Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City some weeks ago had also set up high mast lights around BP Chowk.

The meeting also agreed on constructing a city hall with a capacity of accommodating 500 people in the municipality. The Town Development Committee will provide two bighas of land for the project. The detailed project report has been prepared for the estimated Rs 100 million project, said Raut.
