KATHMANDU: Last rites of former Chief Justice Nayan Bahadur Khatri were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday. Khatri passed away aged 90 years on Thursday night.

A full bench of the Supreme Court convened at the cremation site passed a condolence motion and decided to close courts across the country on Sunday to mourn the demise.

Khatri had served as CJ from 2033 BS to 2042 BS and also as Chairman of Law Commission for three terms. He had also served as Chairman of Press Council, Nepal.
