Interest rate likely to come down to 9%

KATHMANDU: Industrialists and entrepreneurs have suggested that the interest rate of loan be lowered to a single digit.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Nepal Rastra Bank to collect suggestion on the upcoming budget, stakeholders suggested to reduce the interest rate to nine percent.

They suggested to this effect saying that the high interest rate has given rise to the price of commodities, thereby overburdening the consumers.

They also urged NRB to reduce the gap between the loan and the deposit during the interaction.
