PPL: Chitwan sets 168-run target for Kathmandu

POKHARA: Chitwan Rhinos set a 168-run target for Kathmandu Golden Warriors losing four wickets in the allotted 20 overs under the Pokhara Premier League (PPL) underway at Pokhara Cricket Stadium in Kaski on Tuesday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss,  Chitwan notched up 167 runs.  Babar Hayat secured highest 70 runs including three four sand six sixes off 43 balls, Rohan Mustafa made 59 runs including six fours and one six off 52 balls while Aarif Sheikh contributed 15 runs off 9 balls.

In reply, AS Routela, B Regmi, S Bhari claimed one wicket each of Chitwan.

Kathmandu team led by skipper Gyanendra Malla is under pressure to beat Chitwan to secure birth in the playoff. Chitwan Rhinos is led by Paras Khadka.

Kathmandu is in the third position with four points from four games while Chitwan has already reached the playoff.

Chitwan is atop the position with eight points from four games.

The top team will play the final while the second and third team will to undergo eliminator round to enter the final.
