KATHMANDU: Amid speculations over the party’s next move, Samajbadi Party Nepal has decided to walk out of the Prime Minister K P Oli-led government.

A meeting of the party top leaders held on Tuesday decided to quit the government.  The decision will be endorsed by the parliamentary party meeting to be held at 2 pm, party sources said.

The decision was apparent as PM Oli had last month transferred Samajbadi Party’s Chairman and Upendra Yadav from the Minister for Health to Minister of Law.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli had rejected outright Yadav’s effort to raise the issue of the constitutional amendment during Monday’s cabinet meeting. The party had joined the Oli-led government demanding an amendment to the constitution.
