URENA: Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro decided to cut off diplomatic ties with Colombia over its support for opposition leader Juan Guaido and gave a 24-hour ultimatum to its diplomatic staff to leave the country, reported Reuters.

President took a decision to this effect after the Columbian government allowed the American aid conveys to use its land to enter Venezuela.

According to the report, troops loyal to President Nicolas Maduro turned back foreign aid convoys from Venezuela’s border using teargas and rubber rounds on Saturday, resulting in the death of two protesters.

Western nations recognize Guaido as Venezuela’s legitimate leader. (Agencies)
