Coach Shrestha resigns after Nepal’s exit from U-18 SAFF Championship

KATHMANDU: Coach Chet Narayan Shrestha has announced his resignation after Nepal crashed out of the ongoing U-18 SAFF Championship from the group stage.

Nepal’s dream to qualify for the semifinals shattered after Bhutan and the Maldives played a goalless draw on Tuesday.

Nepal might have qualified for the semifinals only if Bhutan had thrashed the Maldives with a goal difference of more than four goals.

Soon after Nepal’s exit from the tournament, Shrestha announced his resignation taking the responsibility for the shameful defeat.
