Two Indians arrested with banned Indian currency notes

KATHMANDU: Two Indian nationals have been arrested from Kathmandu-14, Balkhu with 150,000 banned Indian currency notes.

A police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati arrested Pramendra Das, 30, and Harmendra Das, 28, currently living in Bhaktapur.

Police said they recovered 200 notes in the denomination of IRs 500 from Pramendra and 100 notes in the denomination of IRs 500 from Harmendra while they were on a jeep, Ba 1 Ja 7491, operating in Birgunj-Kathmandu route.

Police said they are investigating the case further. Nepal has currently banned Indian currency note above 100.
