Minister Bhattarai stresses on healthy competition for development

PHIDIM: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, has said the strengthening of federalism and republic depended on the success of incumbent government.

In his address to an inaugural session of the third district assembly of District Coordination Committee, Panchthar, today, the Minister sought a healthy competition among political parties on the issues of development and prosperity. Development paves the solid ground for the successful implementation of federalism and republic, he argued.

The Minister pledged that infrastructure development required for economic prosperity would see a stride during the tenure of the incumbent government. Stating that the economic growth rate had started going up and the government had set a target of capturing a double-digit economic growth rate within the next few years.

According to him, the first year of the government was spent mostly in formulating laws as demanded by the constitution and revising others inconsistent with the country’s main law.

“From now on, the government performance pace will be accelerated,” he assured.
