Nepal receives 84-run target from Malaysia

KATHMANDU: Nepal has received a 83-run target from Malaysia at the fifth match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Finals underway at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore on Wednesday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Malaysia notched up 83 runs in nine overs, losing 7 wickets.

Syed Aziz top-scored with 30 runs including five fours and one six off 15 balls and Virandeep Singh made 21 runs off 17 balls while the other batsmen could not reach double digit runs.

In reply, Nepal’s Sompal Kami claimed three wickets, Basanta Regmi grabbed two wickets and Karan KC one wicket each.

The match was supposed to start at 6:30 am. It was delayed due to rain. The match was reduced to nine overs.
