Parliamentary committee directs govt to investigate Sarlahi incident

KATHMANDU:State Affairs and Good Governance of the Federal Parliament has directed the government to investigate the killing of Kumar Paudel,  Sarlahi district in-charge of Biplav outfit.

“The parliamentary committee directed the Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa and Inspector General of the Police Sarbendra Khanal to investigate and submit the report within a week,” said Chairman of the Committee Shashi Shrestha.

The members of the Committee ordered the government to bring the facts of the incident accusing the government of intentionally murdering Paudel rather than in a confrontation.

Parliamentary Committee member and Former Home Minister Janardan Sharma lashed out at the government saying that Paudel was inhumanely killed since his hand was fractured in seven places.

The government has been maintaining that Sarlahi district Paudel was killed in a confrontation with the police.
