ACC U-16 ER: Nepal beats Malaysia by 39 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Malaysia by 39 runs at the ACC U-16 Eastern Region 2019 held at Prem Tinsulanonda International School, Thailand on Wednesday.

Nepal restricted Malaysia to paltry 102 runs while it was chasing the 142-run target set by it.

Nepal’s Tilak Raj Bhandari, Ramesh Kurmi and Prashant Mahat grabbed two wickets of Malaysia, piling pressure on it, giving away 16, 8 and 8 runs.

Sharveen Surendran scored highest  46 not out runs including three fours off 80 balls,  Wan Ahmad Asyraf made 17 runs off 46 runs while Kishan Kumar contributed 11 runs off 31 balls.

Earlier, elected to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal notched up 141 runs  for Malaysia, losing all wickets in the allotted 35 overs.

Aaish Bhattarai scored highest 34 runs including five fours off 42 balls, Bishal Bikram KC  made 28 runs including two fours off 30 balls while Arjun Kumar and Deepak Bohara contributed 16 runs off 47 and 25 balls, respectively.

Sidharth Karthik claimed highest four wickets while Sahinu Hettige and Lokman Nur Hakim Sahar grabbed two wickets each of Nepal.
