Nepal’s Jesika and Rashila win silver in Bangladesh

KATHMANDU: Nepal has bagged a silver medal in the Bangladesh Junior International Series Badminton tournament held in the capital city Dhaka.

Jesika Gurung and Rashila Maharjan secured the silver medal for Nepal by defeating Malaysian players Cheng Su Yin and Cheng Su Hui by two sets (21-8, 21-7) in the event on Sunday, said Coach Kiran Thapa.

Earlier, Gurung and Maharjan had beat Bangladeshi players to enter the final.

The team had left for Bangladesh on December 15.

Players from Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Malaysia and Thailand had participated in the tournament.
