AGENCIES: Virat Kohli added another feather to his cap as he completed 5000 Test runs as captain on the first day of the historic pink-ball Test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Virat Kohli is destined to go down in history as the most successful Indian captain, at least for now, in Test cricket. Apart from his win percentage as a Test captain, what has stood out is his own form with the bat.

Kohli is a leader on the field and also as a batsman. His performance with a willow in hand in cricket’s longest format has been stupendous to say the least, ever since he took over as captain of the Indian team.

With the achievement, Kohli has now joined an elite list of international captains who have score 5000 or more runs in Test matches as skippers of their respective sides.
