Energy Minister Pun assures electricity in every household

CHITWAN: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun today assured that every house in the country will have electricity within three years.

Speaking at a program in Chitwan today, Minister Pun claimed that 41 districts, including Chitwan, will have full electrification in the current fiscal year.

Saying that a total of Rs 280 million has been allocated in this fiscal year for the purpose, Energy Minister Pun stated that the entire country would be electrified within three years.

He maintained that the idea of operating ship in the Narayani River has also been forwarded to materialize Prime Minister K P Oli’s dream of operating ship in Nepal.

Minister Pun said a research has shown that a ship can be operated from Dasdhunga up to the Indian border.

“A ship carrying around 300 containers can be operated in the Narayani river provided the water level at all places is one and half meters,” Minister Pun said.

According to him, Narayani River would be better the Koshi River for operating ship.
