Investment Board finds Swiss company eligible to construct Nijgadh Airport



KATHMANDU: Swiss company Flughafen Zürich AG has been only found eligible to construct the most-talked-about Nijgadh International Airport.

A meeting of Investment Board held on Monday approved the proposal of the company and decided to seek a detailed proposal.

The airport was showcased at the Nepal Investment Summit 2019 held on March. During the summit, companies from different countries had presented a preliminary proposal showing a willingness to construct the airport.

Matrix Enterprises of Nepal, China Airport Construction Group and China State Construction Engineering Company from China, GMR of India, Qatar Airways, Vinci Group of France and Flughafen Zürich AG of Switzerland had submitted proposals.

Flughafen Zürich AG has been operating Zurich Airport in Switzerland and has been managing and operating airports in different countries.
