NEW DELHI: Air India, India’s national carrier, is currently going through hard times as some oil companies have stopped fuel supplies to the airline, citing pending dues around to IRs 4,500 crore.
Indian media reports have said that the airline has yet to clear fuel dues for more than six months.
The total unpaid due of Air India to Hindustan Petroleum Corp (HPCL), Indian Oil Corporation (IoC), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) stands at around IRS 4,500 crore, media reports said.
The three oil retailers – HPCL, IoC, and BPCL — jointly wrote a letter to Air India last week, asking for quicker clearance of the dues. (Agencies)
