NA endorses proposal to review Environment Protection Bill

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly (NA) has unanimously passed a proposal to review Environment Protection Bill, 2076.

Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet tabled the proposal alongside a message from the House of Representatives in today’s NA meeting.

Responding to queries raised in the meeting by lawmakers on the proposal, minister Basnet said various provisions in the bill has enforced review of environmental impacts before starting any project.

The bill has embraced a new dialogue on the relation between developments, environment and pollution control in line with the federalism system.
