Heavy downpour likely in some parts of country



KATHMANDU: The weather is partly to generally cloudy with chances of rains in most parts of the country, according to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

“With the axis of monsoon trough surging toward the northern direction, heavy rains are likely to occur in the central and eastern region of the country,” said senior meteorologist Barun Paudel, adding, “The remaining regions will witness light to moderate rains.”

Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning are occurring due to monsoon compounded by local winds, said the Division.

The weather will remain generally cloudy in the eastern region and partly to generally cloudy in the central and western region tonight. Heavy rains are likely in some parts of the eastern region and light to moderate rains in the western region.
