APG places Pakistan in the list of ‘blacklisted’ countries

NEW DELHI: Asia-Pacific Group of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has downgraded Pakistan and placed this South Asian nation under the list of blacklisted countries.

FATF, an international anti-money laundering watchdog, has placed Pakistan under the enhanced expedited follow-up list for its failure to meet the standards.

Reports said the Asia Pacific Group has identified several shortcomings in Pakistan’s endeavor to combat terrorism and money laundering, according to reports.

The country was earlier placed in FATF’s ‘grey list’. (Agencies)
