Biplav outfit’s Valley Bureau In-charge Lama sent to judicial custody



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley Bureau In-charge of the outlawed Biplav outfit Maila Lama has been remanded to judicial custody.

He was presented before Lalitpur District Court on Tuesday. The court remanded him to judicial custody after a preliminary hearing. Lama has been sent to Nakkhu Jail.

Acting on tip-off police had arrested Lama at around 12:30 am on Sunday. Police have been claiming that explosions were carried out in different parts of the Valley on Lama’s direction. Some six people have lost their lives in explosions carried out in the Valley by the outfit on different occasions.

Lama is considered as an influential leader of the outfit. Hailing from Sitapaila of Kathmandu, Lama was Chairman of the then Maoist cultural troupe.
