Nepal CIB arrests Australian national on charge of pedophilia



KATHMANDU: A team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Tuesday arrested Derryman Thomas Alfred, an Australian national, on the charge of sexually abusing two boys in Pokhara.

The CIB team, acting on a tip-off, arrested Alfred, 63, from his rented room at Dihiko Patan, Pokhara this morning.

According to Dipak Regmi, Information officer at the CIB, they arrested Alfred for allegedly abusing two teenage boys sexually in his room. CIB has initiated an investigation into the case.

Alfred, who has been staying in Pokhara for around three years, is learnt to have been a paraglider.
