Update: 10 killed after landslides bury their houses in Gulmi



GULMI: Ten people have died after being buried by landslides triggered by incessant downpour at Satyawati Rural Municipality in the district on Tuesday.

Four died after landslides buried three houses at Bhirkuna of Limgha in ward no. 4. Five individuals have gone missing in the incident.

Similarly, two lost their lives after landslides swept away their houses at Thulo Lumpek Kusungthala in ward no. 3. Two others sustained injuries in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Chhali BK (70), Chandra Bahadur BK and Dhan Bhadur BK, Nirmala BK (32), Pamjha BK (29), Anjali BK (12), Tara BK (9), Siwani BK (9), Himanshu BK (5) and a year old child (name unknown), said police.

Similarly, Likumari Taramu and her son Darshan Taramu has been killed from the flood occured at Thulolumphe-3 while Likumari Taramu’s daughters Karishma Taramu (12) and Dhani Taramu have sustained injuries.

The rescue work has been hit due to rains and landslides. Nepal Army, Nepal Police have been deployed in the incident site, said Police Inspector of District Police Office, Gulmi Rabindra Khadka.
