SC starts hearing complaints on vacancy announcement

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has on Sunday started hearing complaints against Public Service Commission (PSC) vacancy announcement.

A division bench of judges Dr Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Hari Krishna Karki conducted the hearing today.

The next hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday. Earlier on June 19, a division bench of judges Dr Khatiwada and Karki had ordered to conduct a simultaneous hearing on all complaints related to the vacancy announcement.

Four complaints have been filed against the vacancy announcement for local levels by the PSC claiming that the announcement was not inclusive in nature. It should be noted that the PSC, on May 29, announced vacancy for 9,161 seats at local levels.
