Six hurt in Tanahun bus accident

DAMAULI: Six people were injured when a passenger bus heading to Pokhara from Sunauli met with an accident at 2 am on the Prithvi highway in Tanahu today.

The bus, Na 5 Kha 5330, with 40 people onboard veered and fell down five feet from the road at Sheratar of Shuklagandaki Municipality-7.

Those injured in the mishap are 54-year-old Muniram Mohariya of Uttar Pradesh, India; his wife, 48-year-old Kanchan Mohariya, Dhana Kumar Pariyar, 30, of Myagdi Annapurna Rural Municipality-1; Resham Shah, 39, of Kapilvastu Municipality-9, Hari Bahadur Chhantyal, 36, of Parbat Kusma Municipality-1, and 10-year-old Rabi Pariyar also of Parbat Kusma Municipality-1, police said.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the GP Koirala Respiratory Disease Treatment Center at Belchautara. The bus driver is absconding and police are searching for him.
