Nepal-India Border Security Meeting concludes



KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Border Security Meeting that kicked off in Pokhara on Wednesday has concluded on Friday.

At the meeting, the Nepali side was led by Chief of Armed Police Force Sailendra Khanal and the Indian side was led by Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Kumar Rajesh Chandra.

The meeting dwelt on cross-border crime, joint patrol at no man’s land and exchange of information. The two countries also agreed to hold a joint exercise.

The meeting was expected to discuss the disputed territory of Kalapani. But, the agenda didn’t make it to the meeting, according to the source. A high-ranking APF official said the issue was not raised as the agendas were pre-determined.

The teams returned Kathmandu on Thursday but the meeting concluded formally on Friday organizing a function at APF Headquarters in Halchowk.

The Indian team will return home on Saturday.
