Finland ready to assist Nepal for development: Ambassador Anttinen

KATHMANDU: Finnish Ambassador to Nepal Pertti Anttinen on Friday said Finland will assist Nepal for development.

Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) on ‘Doing Business With Finland’, Ambassador Anttinen said that Nepal and Finland have been engaged in mutual assistance, adding that it will continue in the days to come.

He added that Finland was ready to invest in Nepal in the tourism sector among others.

Saying that Nepal is heading on a path of economic prosperity, Ambassador Anttinen stressed that both countries should be engaged in exchanging mutual assistance.

Also speaking, Nepal Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Rajendra Malla said that the government should take initiation with the Finnish government for trade promotion.

He stressed on the need of inter-government cooperation to bring Finnish investment in Nepal in tourism, hydropower among other areas.

Malla was of the opinion that a conducive environment for investment is being created in Nepal but some legal hurdles need to be addressed.

Similarly, Vice-Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Naresh Shrestha said that cooperation between the countries was necessary for cooperation at the business level.

He stressed that the government should continue creating an investment-friendly environment.
