Murder-accused sentenced to lief in prison



OKHALDHUNGA: The murder-accused of Santosh Karki, 27, of Molung Rural Municipality-3 of the district has been sentenced to life in prison.

Issuing a verdict, a single bench of Judge Dal Bahadur KC of District Court Okhaldhunga slapped Sanjit Kumar Thapa, 37, of Dang district with a life imprisonment on the charge of murdering Karki, said Netra Bandhu Paudyal, record keeper of the court.

Thap, who was currently working as a security personnel in Dubai, , had murdered Karki with a khukuri in his own house in Molung Rural Municipality-3 on August 21, 2018 for allegedly keeping illegal affairs with his wife.

Police had arrested Thapa on August 28, a week after the incident took place from Bhalubang in Dang district.
Thapa has admitted his crime.
