KATHMANDU: The outlawed Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Bilpav’ has said it would sit for talks with the government provided that its cadres and leaders were released unconditionally.
Issuing a statement today, Biplav has asked the government to maintain extreme honesty for talks and strongly demanded that the government lifted the ban on the party.
The statement was issued after a meeting of the outfit’s 12th central committee meeting in an undisclosed venue somewhere in the western part of Nepal.
“The party will seriously think over the idea of talks with the government if the latter came up with an honest approach,” a statement issued by Biplav said.
The government, however, needs to release all the leaders and cadres who are behind bars, the party has said.
Police had on October 17 arrested 21 leaders, including Biplav’s brother Birjung Chand, of the outlawed party from Rajapur in Dang district.
