Tehrathum Sarokar Samaj holds 7th AGM

KATHMANDU: Tehrathum Sarokar Samaj, a non-political, not-for-profit and social organization, has held its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the capital on Saturday.

Speaking at the program organized in capital, Minister for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal urged one and all to get united for the development of Tehrathum district irrespective of caste and creeds and political ideologies they hold.

Dhakal, the chief guest of the program, said Tehrahum Sarokar Samaj has been taking lead in creating social harmony among Tehrathum people and establishing itself as a non-political and social organization, expressing hope that it would not deviate from its goals.

“The Samaj has been doing appreciative works in the social and cultural field regardless of political ideologies since its very inception,” said Dhakal, expressing confidence that it would execute more laudable jobs in the days ahead,” said Dhakal.

Meanwhile, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Bhawani Khapung urged one and all to make contribution from their side to the development and prosperity of Tehrathum district no matter which part of the globe  they come from and social status they belong to.

Also speaking on the occasion, Chief Adviser of the Sarokar Samaj, Bijaya Sambahamphe said it would be meaningless of any achievement in one’s life if they forgot their birth place and did not make any contribution to it.

Mohan Kumar Dangi, chairman of the Samaj,  urged all the Tehrathum people to get united for the over-all development of the district regardless of the political ideologies, creeds and castes.

General Secretary of the Samaj  Keshab Kumar Bhattarai presented the annual report of the organization’s activities while Treasurer Ram Prasad Bimali presented the annual financial report.

Vice Chairman of Poverty Alleviation Fund Nirmal Kumar Bhattarai, Professor Dr Khagenra Luitel, Vice President of the National Sports Council Pitambar Timsina, Vice Chairman of Samajbadi Party Nepal Parshuram Khapung, Information Commissioner Yasoda Devi Timsina, Professor Dr Om Krishna Sitaula, Senior Vice Chairman of the Samaj Dilli Ram Dhungel among others expressed their their views during the program.
