KATHMANDU: Meteorologists have forecast moderate to heavy rain for the next three days as monsoon trough is currently based in the southern region of Nepal.

Meteorologist Raju Pradhananga at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology informed that the monsoon trough, which moves northward and southward, will bring heavy rainfall when it is stationary.

The monsoon trough that had, some days ago, shifted towards south from Nepal, has moved to Nepal on Monday, increasing the possibilities of moderate to heavy rainfall throughout the country. Rainfall is likely to occur in the country’s hilly regions, Pradhananga said.

According to him, generally to totally cloudy condition will prevail in the central regions and hilly regions and partially cloudy weather over the western region tonight.
