LAHAN: An Armed Police Force (APF) patrol confiscated a home-made pistol from Paterwa of Siraha municipality-17.
The team from the APF Camp Madar this morning encountered with a man riding on a motorcycle with an Indian number plate who moved back upon seeing the team. He threw the pistol on the bank of Kamala River before crossing the border, APF Inspector Surendra Bahadur Shahi said. However, the team could not identify the motorcycle’s registration number.
The confiscated weapon has been handed to the District Police Office, Siraha for necessary action. In separate incident in the district a pedestrian died after being hit by a truck at Golabazar-8 in Siraha along the East-West Highway this morning. Police confirmed the death of Bikram Urau, 35, of Naraha rural municipality-1 in Siraha.
The truck (Na 4 Kha 9897) coming from the opposite direction hit him, leaving dead on the spot. Following the accident, police have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle, the Area Police Office, Goalbazar said.
