JAKARTA: At least six people died and 200 injured during mass rallies in Jakarta, media reports have said.

Indonesian police said the cause of the deaths was being investigated while conforming the death toll. Meanwhile, the government has restricted social media in some parts of Jakarta to stop rumors from spreading.

Police have denied reports of using live ammunition while calling for calm. According to authorities, the protests were planned, not spontaneous. (Agencies)
