Deuba refutes accusations that NC was a ‘weak opposition’

DAMAK: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has refuted accusations that his party’s role in the parliament has been weak.

Speaking to journalists Chandragadhi Airport in Jhapa today, Deuba said that Nepali Congress had never been in a weak position as an opposition.

He also refuted allegations of factionalism within the party, stating that such reports were intended at defaming the party.

Deuba said differing views and opinions are not unusual in democracy and the NC entertains differing views within the party.

“It is unfair to label this as party’s weakness,” he said.

He also accused the KP Oli-led government of pitching for totalitarianism.
