KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Monday said the incumbent government was working to ensure modern and prosperous Nepal.

Speaking at the ceremony organized to celebrate the completion of the party unification process, the prime minister conveyed his commitments to attain the dream of a well-to-do country.

“We are heading ensuring democracy based on social justice. Everyone played a substantial role to bring the movement to this point,” he said.

The prime minister maintained that the country was going through looming hurdles and challenges and was quick to add that a bright future awaits us.

PM Oli said the incumbent government was successful to overcome the forces trying to create public chaos and weaken the national unity.

“The government has been successful to rope in those carrying out secessionist movement,” the prime minister stated.

Stating the main opposition, Nepali Congress, had taken up a wrong policy of joining hands with reactionary forces, NCP Chair Oli said if the Congress is a democratic force, it must unite with democratic forces.

“It is surprising to see some NC leaders dreaming of restoring monarchy,” he said while adding that those who believe in democracy can never say that supremacy on the basis of birth is right.
