2 Japanese nationals deported on proselytization charge



KATHMANDU: Ministry of Home Affairs has deported two Japanese nationals from the country for their involvement in religious conversion.

The ministry deported Morita Masahiro and Ukari Hashimoto, who had been staying in Nepal on student visa, after they were found engaged in spreading Christianity, said Ishwr Raj Paudel, Director General of Department of Immigration.

They had taken visa to study at Shiva Shakti Campus, Foolbari, Pokhara, Kaski,  affiliated to Tribhuvan University.

Nepal’s constitution bans religious conversation.
