KATHMANDU: Dipesh Ale Magar scored the only goal as Sankata Club defeated New Road Team at Dashrath Stadium in the Martyr’s Memorial “A” Division League 2019/20.
Taking the advantage of a sloppy NRT defending, Magar netted the ball from very close range in the just eighth minute of the game.
The first half saw neck to neck competition between the two, however, it ended with Magar’s 8th-minute opener.
New Road improved after the break and went close multiple times but Sankata keeper Binaya Shrestha held the lead with wonderful saves.
Sankata offered little as an attacking threat, but with New Road unable to break the deadlock they were able to put some pressure in NRT defense in the closing stages.
Dipesh Ale Magar from Sankata bagged man of the match award with his brilliant performance.
