Kathmandu beats Biratnagar by 36 runs in PPL

POKHARA: Kathmandu Golden Warriors defeated Biratnagar Titans by 36 runs in the Pokhara Premier League (PPL) T20 match played here on Saturday.

Chasing down the 160-run target set by Kathmandu, Biratnagar managed to get only 123 runs on the board losing all wickets in 19.4 overs.

Puneet Mehra top-scored for Biratnagar at 53 runs. Pradeep Singh Airee and Noman Khan 29 and 25 runs respectively.

Subodh Bhati of Kathmandu took three wickets as AS Routela and Basanta Regmi took two wickets each.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Kathmandu Goldens Warrior notched up 159 runs losing five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

J Kolsawal top-scored with 55 runs including five fours and two sixes off 43 balls.

Skipper Gyanendra Malla made 45 runs including three fours and two sixes off 33 balls while A Shrestha contributed 17 runs off 15 balls.

In reply, Biratnagar’s P Mehra grabbed two wickets, Noman Khan and JK Mukhiya took 1 wicket each of Kathmandu.
