Prez Bhandari to attend Japanese Emperor’s enthronement Tuesday

TOKYO: The enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito is taking place at Imperial Palace on Tuesday.

Representatives from various countries have arrived in Tokyo to congratulate and extend best wishes to new Japanese Emperor Naruhito.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari arrived in Tokyo on Sunday to participate in the ceremony.

The Nepali delegation comprises Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, Nepali Ambassador to Japan, Prativa Rana, Secretary at the Office of the President, Dr Hari Poudel, Chief Personal Secretary of the President, Dr Bheshraj Adhikari, high-level officials of Foreign Ministry and Office of the President, among others.

The enthronement ceremony will take place from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm as per local time tomorrow.
