Three arrested for burning constitution

BANKE: Police have arrested three people, including the president of Tharu Welfare Assembly, on the charge of burning the constitution.

Chief of the Area Police Office Kohalpur, Deputy Superintendent Hem Bahadur Shahi, said three people including the Assembly president Binod Tharu were arrested as the Assembly office-bearers tried to burn a copy of the constitution in course of protest demonstration.

The Assembly office-bearers were protesting the constitution, calling for amending some Articles and Clauses of the constitution.

Shahi said the process for initiating action against the arrestees has been forwarded.
