First international veteran cup kicks off in Chitwan

CHITWAN: First International Invitation Chitwan Veteran Cup Football Tournament has kicked off today.

Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Renu Dahal inaugurated the match amid a function.

A total of 16 teams including two Indian teams have participated in the match. Winner will receive Rs 101,111 and a trophy and first runner-up Rs 50,555 and a trophy.

Man of the match will receive Rs 10,000. Likewise, best keeper of the match, the best defense, best midfielder, and high scorer will receive Rs 5,000 each.

Group ‘A’ teams include hosts Chitwan Veteran (blue), Makawanpur Veteran, Hetauda, Avishek Church Nawalpur, Royal Veteran Darjeeling (India), Bagar Bhai Khalak Pokhara, T Baragar Lalitpur, Night King Kathmandu, and Nawalpur Veteran Club.

Likewise, Group ‘B’ teams include Chitwan Veteran (red), Sano Gaucharan Kathmandu, Rupandehi Veteran 11 Football, BBC Veteran Banepa, Jhapa Veteran, Youth Academy Birgunj, Dehradun FC India and Kailali Veteran.

Chitwan Veteran (blue) and Makawanpur Veteran are competing in the opening match today. The tournament will end on September 24.
