Lamichhane, Kami selected for Global T20 Canada

KATHMANDU: Nepali cricketers Sandip Lamichhane and Sompal Kami have been selected for the ICC approved Global T20 Canada scheduled for July 25 to August 11.

Lamichhane was bought by Toronto Nationals for USD 60,000, while Hawks Cricket Club purchased Kami for USD 3,000. The leg-spinner Lamichhane had set his value of a minimum of USD 60,000 in the auction, and Kami USD 3,000.

Last year, Lamichhane had played the tournament from Montreal Tigers. But for ace all-rounder Kami, this will be his debut match. Lamichhane’s team’s marquee player for the cricket tournament is India’s former batsman Yuvraj Singh.

Last year, Lamichhane was bought by Montreal Tigers for USD 40,000 for the tournament. The total 12 Nepali cricketers had applied to include in the players’ draft list for the tournament.
