44 killed as bus plunges into gorge in India



 

NEW DELHI: As many as 44 people were killed in a bus accident in Kullu of Himanchal State of India.

The accident took place at Banzar, 50 kilometers away from Kullu city. In the accident that occurred on Thursday 34 people were injured.

A total of 78 people were traveling in the ill-fated bus, HP-66-7065, that was heading to Sada Gunaishi from Kullu district.

The jam-packed bus lost its control and plunged into a gorge, said police.
